Wasn't My Best Day

Yup, that's me.....sicko.....or should I say....sickie.

Yup, that's me again. What does the first photo and second photo have in common? If you guessed Kleenex, you are soooo right on! Caught a head cold this week and today was the breaking point. My sinuses opened up and my body felt like it had been beaten up. Hopefully this will be the last cold of the season. I hate being sick.

Bike Man's first catch today while ice fishing. Just a little stinker (perch).

I'm glad someone could ride his snow bike today.

Peace my friends, and I'm also showing you my rabbit shadow! Whoo. The sunshine felt good today, but my sinuses are still suffering tonight.

Slow Melt

Came home tonight after work and this is what the sunset looked like across the lake.

I know I've shown pictures before of our compost pile, but now you can see the snow has completely melted and all the vegetables, fruit & eggs shells are visible. No surprise that I saw lots of deer tracks near the compost pile.

My large morel is slowly emerging from the winter snow fall.

If any of you have read my blog long enough, you will recognize the red top. Yup, Timothy is slowly awakening. The warmer temperatures this week have been nice....very refreshing for the body and soul. A little cooler tomorrow with rain during the day and night.

The Critters Are Coming Out

(courtesy of Stephen O.)
Over the last several nights, the raccoons have been showing up in our yard. So much for hibernation!

On my way home late tonight from work, I smelled the familiar smell of a SKUNK! In past years, the skunks come out in the beginning of spring. So many this is a good sign.
Bike man heard robins singing two days ago when he was out on the lake ice fishing. So is this a sign of spring? I think it's just wishful thinking on my part.
PS. There might be rain in the weekend forecast......not snow.

What Will March Bring?

This picture will only be around for another 6-8 weeks. The warm weather is starting to make me think March might be a "friendly" month after all. Am I just wishful thinking!

Pleasant Day

I think we are being teased with spring conditions. Another beautiful day with temperatures in the upper thirties. Unfortunately, I was indoors all day, but the sunshine through the windows felt nice.

My fifth workout tonight @ the fitness center with Jordan.....a lower body (legs) workout. I'm learning how to use the exercise ball for abdominal toning along with the medicine balls. I'm hoping by late spring, I will feel physically stronger when I hop on my bike for road rides.

Could She Get Any Higher?

Why do cats always have to sit on top of something? Notice......my cat is sitting on top of the bread machine, geez!

Taught my spinning class tonight. The highlight of the class tonight was when one of my participants started doing super spins so fast that her water bottle popped right out of her bottle cage and slammed to the floor, breaking the bottle (plastic) and water everywhere. My comment to her......hey, good effort tonight Sarah!!!!! I love it when someone in my class works really hard.

Remember Life Before Technology?

I just needed to spend the afternoon outside, so I went snowshoeing out on the lake. I also decided today, that I needed a break from technology. No Internet, no blogging, no emailing, no Facebook (which I hate by the way....sorry) and no online news updates. I realized it was time to discover, or should I say, open my eyes to those beautiful pieces of art work that God creates for all of us to enjoy. We all just tend to overlook those beautiful treasures....I'm guilty of it all the time.

I headed down to the lake with my camera and took a series of photos along the lake shore.

It's amazing what you can find if you just look....open your eyes and see the beauty of just little simple things. I don't need flashing lights, blaring music, fancy gadgets, or money for that matter. I just wanted to see and enjoy those little things in nature with my eyes.

What was one of the unusual things I saw today? I spotted a little skinny fly that flew by me as I was walking around the lake. The little fly would glide a few feet and then land on the snow and then take off again just flying here and there. I guess it's not uncommon to see flying creatures when the temperature is around 36 degrees, but hey, it's still winter!
What did you see today that made you stop and really look closely?
