What's an Easy Job?

It was suppose to be an easy job, however, nothing is easy my friends!  I had the idea to repaint our little bathroom, but then we decided to finally replace the medicine cabinet with a newer one. Well, the new cabinet is much bigger than the older one, so the easy job became much more involved.  Sadly, we ran into difficulties with the wall studs so the medicine cabinet did not get installed today.  Hopefully, the cabinet will get put into place on Monday when Bike man has more time to work on it.   In a perfect world, everything would go lickety split right?  As for painting, well, I'll get it done when I can.  Patience is my second name.....

Simply Uncomfortable

Oh friends, it's been so hot and uncomfortable this week.  The only thing positive is that I've had a very busy week at work with lots of meetings and a presentation I gave for the County Board meeting last night, so I've spent a lot of time indoors.....in air conditioning.  Tonight is very sultry and the nice breeze has shifted, so we can't feel it through our open windows.

Bike man started up all the sprinklers in our yard tonight since we haven't had rain in weeks.  Everything is parched.  After tonight, the temperatures and humidity should start dropping to more reasonable levels.  No biking, no running and no walking.  In other words I'm feeling unhealthy and miserable.  Hoping for more pleasant weather this weekend.

Good Thoughts & Prayers

Got the doctor's blessing today.  Everything is good to go and test results came back cancer-free.  High-five to me!!!  Such a good feeling my friends.  Now it's time to plan our bicycle vacation.   Low bike miles so far this summer and just not enough time in the saddle, so we'll go to plan B.  In August, Bike man and I will take off and head towards the mighty Mississippi River and then head south.....but not to Dubuque, IA like originally planned.  I'm guessing we'll head to Southern WI and take our time visiting new places along the way.  I'll explain later when we have a better idea of our route.  Anticipating the first few days will be all about working those butt muscles and adjusting to the road miles.  Just give me a few beers at the end of a warm daily ride and I'll be all relaxed and happy!

To celebrate my good health news tonight, I got out the sauté pan and cooked my favorite combination for supper....zucchini, mushrooms, yellow peppers, garlic, onions and kale.  Sliced up one cooked rutabaga brat from last night and that added to the finally touch.  Took a big spoonful and put it in a whole wheat pita pocket.  Added a touch of grated cheddar and my meal was complete.  Cheers to good health!  Thank you to all my blogger friends who were concerned about my phyiscal health.  The prayers and good thoughts kept me positive and calm.  I had the lowest pulse rate ever and blood pressure reading for late in the day.  Bike man will be proud of me......

Squirrel Lake

Spent the weekend with my aunt & uncle on Squirrel Lake near Minocqua, in Oneida County.

The weather was beautiful with breezy warm temperatures all weekend.
Got out for a little fishing with the Unc!

I appreciated the relaxation time outdoors this weekend.  Squirrel Lake is a beautiful clean lake.  Was nice to spend time with my aunt & uncle.....Thanks Jack & Diane!
