I had the best day ever! I was finally able to visit my twin sister (Twister) Lynn yesterday in her home town, Wausau, Wisconsin. I haven't seen her since last July, so I had a lot of catching up to do with her. Of course we spent time doing girl talk, shopping and lunch. My nephew, Tim, also joined us for the day.

Groundhog's Day Snowstorm
We've been hearing about this snowstorm for five days now. Anticipating, wondering, planning my next significant snowshoe walk. Well, the weatherman was spot on tracking this storm. The snow started around noon today and it came with a vengeance. So, I decided to head out in the Enchanted forest on my snowshoes during the heaviest snow this afternoon. Hearing the wind blow amongst the trees was an amazing sound.
The snow was accumulating quickly.....just look at these weeds. We received at least six to seven inches by 4 pm.
Just thirty minutes into my hike and I was covered in snow! Can you tell I'm happy to be outdoors???
The trails were beautiful today and I almost didn't recognize them with all the new snow. I ended my snowshoe walk after an hour and stop by my friends house for a cup of tea, some delicious aged parmesan cheese/crackers and a shot of bourbon! Thanks Caryn......you are the best!

Beautiful January Day
Did not waste a minute today after seeing the warm weather forecast. Woke up early, attended church service down the road at the little country Lutheran church. Came home and enjoyed a quick half cup of coffee and toast with peanut butter and banana slices. Didn't waste any time and headed out the door for a nice sunny 3-mile run. My run was preceded by a 40 minute snow walk through the enchanted woods (my friends land). The sunshine felt glorious. The photo above is what I call a deer super highway! Lots of heavily traveled deer trails in the woods, but I never see the deer!!!
Came back to our house and joined Bike man on the lake for a little ice fishing. We had a nice warm fire going in the cooper fire pit, so I roasted some natural casing hot dogs. Honestly, this is the ONLY time of the year where we eat hot dogs! There's just something about roasting them over an open fire that makes them worth eating.
Lastly, I wanted you all to see the gorgeous late afternoon sky. A sky like this will just make you stop for a minute and smile.
