Black Friday Breakfast Patties

Black Friday Breakfast Patty

I have to confess, every year I look forward to the day after Thanksgiving.  This is the only time of the year that we make our Black Friday breakfast patties.  Unfortunately, I'm sorry to report this recipe is off limits.  Bike man concocted these tasty patties years ago.....you know, his own recipe.  All I'll say is that these yummy patties represent leftovers from a Thanksgiving meal.  Turkey, bacon-cranberry cornbread dressing, and mashed sweet potatoes fried in butter or oil olive.  Of course, there's always leftover cranberry sauce.  I think you can figure out the recipe!!!

Being Thankful

Becca, Grandma Shirley and Chris

Being thankful is what Thanksgiving is all about.

Becca, Grandma Shirley and Me

I am thankful for my family....thankful for good health, especially my mom and dad's health.

It was a great day to spend with the folks here in Southwest Wisconsin.  Can you believe we had mid 60 degrees today?  Spent some time outdoors to soak up the sunshine.  Reality will set in tomorrow as much colder air will be moving in to Wisconsin.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Love a Quick Meal

When working a late night, I always come home looking for an easy meal to make, something light.  Rising Moon Organics makes delicious Ravioli.  Tonight, I grabbed the Basil, Asiago & Pesto Ravioli out of the freezer.

Boil the water and then turn down the heat and add the frozen Rising Moon Ravioli and cook for 8 minutes.  Drain in a colander.

Place Ravioli back in the sauce pan and add olive oil.....stir.  Plate Ravioli and sprinkle lightly with shredded cheese and real bacon pieces.  Savor every bite slowly!  I highly recommend Rising Moon Ravioli for a quick meal.

Illumination

I'm not exaggerating when I say the light fixtures at my library were like 40 years old!  As of today, the new lights were installed and I couldn't be happier....really happy.  No more dull lighting, squinting eyes and energy guzzling bulbs.  Our $4,000 lighting project was well worth every penny!  I just hope my library customers like the new brightness.......

Blaze Orange

It's better to be safe than sorry!  With the first day of deer hunting here in Wisconsin, I made sure I was glowing in orange as I road with Bike man this afternoon.  Didn't want to be mistaken for deer!

With Bike man's red jersey and my orange jacket, we certainly stood out on the highway.  Today's ride was hard since we had a good southern breeze.  Bike man did fine, but the hills gave me a good workout.  It's hard to believe it's November.  Where's the snow???  (20 miles)

I Think I'll Head South

Snow Snow, Let It Snow!

Fifteen minutes before I was going out to run this morning, my big sis calls me.  "Hey big sis, I'm headed out for a run, only have five minutes to talk."  My sis says, " oh wow, I just got back from an hour-long walk and I'm totally drenched in sweat......it's 80 degrees here in Jacksonville.  What...really??????  As you can see, my morning run dealt with a light coating of snow!

Nice to have day off for Veteran's Day.
