Breaking Out the Happiness

After an all day rain, the sunshine is finally breaking out late tonight. Smiles are hard to come by these days with the cool temperatures and frequent rainy days....but we're trying to be happy. Hoping that tomorrow will be warmer and drier.

Someone Said It Was a Nice Day

For all of us 9 to 5 workers today, it just wasn't fair. I'm talkin the sunshine that came and quickly left by mid afternoon....and I missed it! By the time I got home after work, the sky looked dark and threatening. Went out for walk anyway and managed to dodge the raindrops.

Is it too much to ask for maybe like 70 degree? And throw in a little sunshine?

Thinking Spring Thoughts

Looked out the window this morning and saw ( ), sorry can't say the word. I think you know what I mean. My heart sank. Won't be long however, and we'll see Trillium's along the bike trail......can hardly wait. So what is the one thing you look forward to in spring?

It's Getting Old

The green foliage is slowly emerging despite the cold temperatures this week. Discovered these green shrubs while on my walk tonight. Was hoping I'd be out cycling by now since it's the end of April, but these cold, windy conditions make me non-motivated.

Driving home after work, I passed a male cyclist struggling in the westerly winds. Of course I had to check him out.....that's just the woman in me! Tights, lightweight jacket, cycling shoes, helmet cover. Yup, he was an average cyclist, which is still kind of rare around my neck of the woods. Never seen him before, but I'll be watching for him in the next few months. I'm sure he'll speed up as the season progresses.

Man oh man, I need sunshine badly.....my spirits are dwindling.

They Just Sleep

See what happens on a rainy cool day! Sleepy cats. A sleepy furball high on the cat tree, a sleepy cat in the rocking chair and another sleepy cat on the dining room table....oops. If only I could be so lucky to lounge around sleeping on a dreary damp day.

Just work today, no play.

Date Night

I almost stood her up again tonight, but Bike man kindly reminded me that she has been patiently waiting for me.

Since getting home a little later after work, I explained to Ruby we needed to condense our ride.....concentrate on a gentle stroll sort of ride, if you know what I mean. She agreed! A steady wind from the south made the ride brisk, but enjoyable. Just a quick 50 minute ride.

So what's on tap for the next few days? Well, not sunny spring weather if you're wondering. That word is in the forecast. I can't even say that word. Nope.....won't say it.

Simply an awesome day and the sunset was icing on the cake!

I woke up today feeling totally refreshed and excited to see the sun. The sunshine was much needed to boost my spirits. Becca and I headed out to church service this morning and then came home to make a traditional Easter dinner. Thanks to Bike man for getting the ham in the oven, I basically only had to make mashed potatoes, grilled sweet potatoes cooked corn and warm applesauce. Just a simple meal.

Spent several hours outdoors this afternoon finishing up on yard work. Can't believe the volume of tree branches and limbs that came down during the last major snow storm. Lots of yard work, but it's almost done.....thank heavens.
