It Felt Like Spring For One Day

The annual Tainter Lake ice fishing contest was held today. What a great day with full sunshine and warm temps.....43 degrees to be exact!

I made Chris stop for one minute so I could capture this picture. Chris and his friend K were constantly on the move jigging for panfish and watching K's fish locater.

The ice fishing contest was held less than a mile from our house at the Elk Point boat landing. Ted decided to ride his bike down on the lake.

I walked around and took about 50 pictures! I didn't want to bog down my post today so I will try to figure out how to add a slide show of all my ice fishing photos.

One of our former neighbors brought his daughter G to the contest. G & I had a good time walking around and talking to people out on the ice.

Planning For the Ice Fishing Contest

I came home tonight after spin class to find Chris at home. He was busy making a batch of cookies for tomorrow's ice fishing contest. Chris made Chocolate Chip & Craisin cookies. When you're outside all day ice fishing, you need food right?

I think I'll go to the ice fishing contest tomorrow with Chris. The contest is on our lake and lots of people show up for this ice fishing event. There's lots of door prizes too.

Chris is going to stay at home tonight, and then head out early tomorrow morning and set up for his favorite spot on the lake. Wish us luck tomorrow.

~ I Love My New Soda Stream ~

I feel like a little girl all excited because she got a new gift that is really, really cool! This beats the Magic Bake Oven or the Snow Cone machine for sure!!!!! I absolutely love my new Soda Stream, which turn regular tap water into sparkling water. I read about this machine in a magazine and they raved, and raved about how easy it is to make your own flavored soda or flavored water.

The machine comes with a CO2 canister & bottles. You fill a bottle with tap water and refrigerate it until the water is cold. Then, you just open the cap and fit the bottle onto the machine and push the button. The CO2 shoots into the bottle and in less than 10 seconds your bottle is just like Seltzer water. When I made myself a glass of cherry soda, I was surprised at how fizzy it really was! I would compare it to opening a can of 7-UP and feeling the slow fizzy burn as you try to slam a whole can!!!!!

Now here's the best part, I also received a sample packet of flavors to add to the water such as, Root Beer, Cola, Energy & Cranberry/Raspberry. Also, I received little bottles of flavor essence, which is all natural, unsweetened flavors like Berry, Lemon-Lime and Orange. All it takes is a 1/2 tsp (2ml) to a bottle of water.

I know it's a gadget, but it's going to be a FUN gadget. Becca & Chris....you are going to be so jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What Was I Thinking Tonight!

I'm still tired!!! After work today, I taught my spinning class but only one person came to my class...bummer. I decided to try the class right after my spin class, it's called Step/Pump. Oh Lordy, I wasn't prepared for all the leg lifting, turning, hoping and stepping that is involved in this class. Ok, I'm going to reveal my age here.....I'm 48 years old, but I felt much older tonight during this fitness class. For some reason my hips & knees kept saying "no, no, no...don't do that." Back in the mid 80's I did Aerobics class and was really good at it, but now my body doesn't seem to want to bend that far, or the legs don't want to kick that high. I think I'll stick to my bicycle. It's true however, a cyclist does need to work on his/her upper body.

Hey everybody, I got a present tonight....my husband bought me a Soda Stream drink maker. It makes carbonated water like Club Soda. The machine even comes with the special bottles to carbonate your regular tap water. No more buying club soda at Wal-Mart, woo hoo!

Three Hours of Rock Band!

I snapped this picture tonight at the library. These are my two librarians that are SUPPOSE TO BE WORKING!!! Does that look like work to you? I'm just kidding. The girls were holding down the fort.

Tonight our library sponsored a "Rock Band" event with the teenage crowd. The turnout was low...not sure why, we offered free pizza! Jenny & Kris were just sitting here relaxing and watching the kids play guitar, drum and sing. We'll I think Jenny was enjoying herself a little too much. Don't worry everyone, it's just a bottle of black cherry syrup (for Italian sodas). Who said librarians can't have fun? Jenny was just being funny.

Just to be respectful, I did not want to show "I" face. He did a great job on the drums. All the kids had fun and ate LOTS of pizza. I wasn't able to be there for the whole Rock Band event tonight since I was at the fitness center teaching spin classs. Just before I drove home tonight I stopped by the library to see how the teen event was going. Everyone seemed to be having fun. That's what counts.

Sensual & Cycle = Calendars!!!

It was a long day today. Got to the fitness center right after work and did some weight training, and then taught Mark's spin class tonight since he's on vacation, so I didn't get home until 7:40 pm tonight. I had a full class...yippee. You know what? I'm tired!

Hey, after two months of waiting, Ted finally received his 2008 & 2009 "Cycle Passion" autographed calendar of world-champion female cyclists. The Olympic and world champion female cyclists are featured in these calendars. You should see these calendars....very sensual poses, kind of like the Victoria Secret of cycling!!!!! You'd never know they are top caliber cyclist! Ted was drooling and I was like, "oh she has nice.........." Ted won this world-wide drawing and was notified in December that he won. He's been patiently waiting and waiting for the calendars to arrive. So where should we hang these calendars?

Looking Ahead......

I wanted to post a picture today, so I chose my road bike which is set up on the trainer. You can also see the front tire of Ted's bike. We actually did a workout together this afternoon, but Ted started 50 minutes before me by doing an easy warm up. The training dvd that we use gives us a 45 minutes workout. We also have another training tape that is more intense and goes longer. All of this cycling and spinning classes will be to our advantage when we do our 7-day Great Divide trail ride in July. After looking at the route profile, I knew I would need to be in good shape for this upcoming ride in the summer. I'm getting excited just thinking about it!!!

I brewed myself a cup of White Tea with peach blossoms this morning. Wow, that was great! I'm glad we were able to stop by the Infinitea tea shop yesterday. Take a look at their webpage.
