Come On....Take a Walk With Me

I hope you enjoyed the snowshoe walk this afternoon. The air was mild, and the south wind was a wee bit cold against the cheeks, but the sunshine felt heavenly. I didn't even need to take my walking poles today.....the snow level is slowly decreasing. That's ok by me!

They Had This All Planned

I guess the surprise was on me! I did not know our daughter was coming home this afternoon, so when I arrived home after work, I found this Minnesota license plate in our driveway. Being blond, it took me a few moments to realize who's car was in our driveway. It finally hit me.....Becca girl!!!

Was also surprised to see our son and his girlfriend home too. Can I say this? Ok, I was in seventh heaven, ahhhhhh. I'm such a typical mother, yes, a 49 year mother that loves her family.
We ended up going out for pizza tonight and enjoyed two new pizzas we've never ordered before. Chicken Ranch pizza and Cheeseburger pizza.....very filling and very tasty.
It's been a long work week so I was ready to relax and put up my feet for a Friday night.

No Charge For Mother Nature

I understand that winter is cold and harsh here in the Midwest, but on the upside.....you can find some really interesting photos if you just look around and enjoy what you see. Can anyone guess what the third picture is?

A Little Thai Tonight

After work tonight, I forced myself to go to Mark's spin class. I think it's just the January slump that is slowly moving in. It's this time of the year when I just wish I could hop on my bike and ride home. Bicycle commuting is still months away I'm afraid.

After getting home from the fitness center, I was eager to make something unusual. A while back I bought some Thai Red Curry sauce at our local food co-op. Tonight was my night to experiment.

I decided to cook up some tri-colored couscous to go with the vegetables and Red Curry Thai sauce.

I stir fried some chicken, then vegetables. When the vegetables were tender I added the Red Curry Thai sauce.

What a unique flavor. The curry taste was very mild. Actually, I added red pepper flakes when I served up a plate for myself. Just gotta have that little bit of kick ya know! Hope you like my quick dinner idea.

I Need Help

My Monday night spin classes are starting too get more serious.....yeah, I know, can you believe that? I should have known this was going to be a different spin year, especially when class participants aren't talking much and really concentrating on the whole spin workout. Last year I had a lot of fair-weather participants that would come and go , but this winter season is totally different. My class is eager for new spin workouts and new music

Help!

I spent 2/3 of my day yesterday previewing music on iTunes to use for my spinning class. I never realized how time consuming this whole process is. I lucked out last year because my niece provided me with a bunch of her spin workouts with great, upbeat music.

Well now, I'm ready to put together new playlists of music for my spinning class, but I think my brain is slowing down however, because I just can't seem to think of good music groups that will provide me with fast (bpm) music.

So tonight, I'm taking music suggestions from my blogger friends. What fun, upbeat, bodysweating music can you suggest to me for spin class. I will be ever grateful to your suggestions. Remember....FUN music.

Fresh Air

Bike man managed to find some thinner snow out in the middle of the lake today, otherwise there's deeper snow in our bay that make riding very difficult. Darn!

As for me, I spent an hour just walking around the lake taking photographs this afternoon. I will share my photos soon. Enjoyed a nice toasty fire down on the ice, while waiting for the fish to bite. Let's just say it was a slow day in the area of ice fishing.
